"If we look for the litmus test, the proof of true impermanence, it is - the ability of the ingenious eternal work to excite us and give us images, emotions, interpretations and answers to our searches and eternal questions. Such is the life of the works that have outgrown their time, among which the songs and musical works of Yossif Tsankov have been proven. As his grandson, I have been living with his work for years and I admire the "treasure" he has left for generations.
For some time now I have been a lecturer at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music and I realized that the new generations know very little about a large number of Bulgarian composers, in particular my grandfather's work. This, combined with my love for chamber music, gave birth to the idea of creating a cycle of 20 miniatures, for a trombone quartet, to the music of Yossif Tsankov. "
