СРЕЩА В ПРИКАЗКАТА – ВАРНА ♫
Music as eternity. So we will hear it in Meeting in the fairytale
As you know Yossif Tzankov or Yoji, as his relatives call him, is an epoch in Bulgarian music, but this place is not deserved by chance, as the composer formed or participated in the formation of the tastes of his contemporaries for many years. During his active creative life - 1929 -1971 he wrote over 500 works that were performed, recorded and most importantly - loved and listened to by the general public. In this treasury there are six operettas, many tangos, hits in different rhythms and styles, pop songs, music for movies and more.
As one of the founders of the Bulgarian National Radio (then Radio "Sofia"), Yosif Tsankov, in addition to being the composer of a large part of the music performed and recorded by the Radio Orchestra, is also an ideologist of music and children's programs in the media. Somehow, most correctly and not by chance, the grandson of the famous composer and the driving force behind the initiative to revive the musical treasury left to us by Yosif Tsankov, the trombonist Velislav Stoyanov chooses to record and implement the finished program with the touch of the Symphony Orchestra of the BNR.
The biggest challenge in the program had Milen Kukosharov, who was entrusted with the responsibility to transform the music of Yosif Tsankov, to capture its magic and with the necessary respect for what the composer created to transfer it to our time without losing its beauty.
And so the two artists met in the fairytale…
Внукът на композитора и солист в програмата Vili Stoyanov не може да скрие вълнението си: "Milen Kukosharov managed to easily escape from the way Yosif Tsankov's music sounds. It has left a deep impression on many generations in a row, it sounds standard in one way and everyone expects to hear it that way. In the big band program presented in 2021, Mihail Yosifov was able to very deftly interweave the vocal parts between the trumpet, trombone and saxophone, observing the canon, with infinite respect we switched to jazz for a bit and it turned out something extremely beautiful.
It was the most beautiful and smooth transition to what Millen has done now, trying to bring my grandfather's music into the timeless."
Vili Stoyanov defined Milen Kukosharov's arrangements as a transformation of his grandfather's songs, and the result – as an attempt to play the music in absolute timelessness – in the future, the past and the present at the same time.
♫ In the presentation of this fairytale will be involved Shumen Symphony Orchestra, with conductor Lubo Denev - son, a jazz trio consisting of Milen Kukosharov - piano, Boris Taslev - double bass and Atanas Popov - drums, as well as soloist - Velislav Stoyanov - trombone.

"It took me long time, but apparently I had to mature, to feel ready for my meeting with my great grandfather Yosif Tsankov, whom I unfortunately did not have the fortune of knowing during my lifetime... Но пък живота ме срещна с Милен Кукошаров, Атанас Попов, Борис Таслев и Любо Денев – син, както и с останалите виновници за това пътешествие, едни от най-талантливите и душевно богати хора и аз съм щастливец, че са до мен, докато самият аз опознавам дядо си, по единствения възможен начин, чрез музиката, която е оставил за нас.
Щастлив съм да ви покажа част от наследството си и да продължавам да ви срещам с моят деди Йожи. ”
